Corazón Cabo, a Noble House Resort

Medano Beach is the reason people put up with Cabo San Lucas in high season. It is the one arc of sand in town where the Sea of Cortez lies down, swimmable, lined with palapas, running east from the marina towards the headland that finishes at Land’s End. 1 Homes Preview Cabo sits on it, at the El Medano end of Paseo de la Marina, and it is not laid out like a hotel. This is the 1 Hotels group working in residences: studios, one bedroom homes, ocean view homes of two and three bedrooms, and beachfront villas in the Baja Collection that sleep ten. Modern hacienda, timber and stone, planting everywhere.
We kept this one for the format. Most of the luxury inventory in Los Cabos is a room with a balcony twenty minutes out of town; this is a house with a kitchen, on the sand, five minutes from the marina. For a family, or for two couples travelling together, that changes the shape of the week entirely. The environmental line is not decoration either: the design leans on natural materials, the lobby runs a farmstand rather than a gift shop, and the membership programme plants trees for each guest who joins. You can swim before breakfast and walk to dinner, which on this coastline is not a given.
Paseo de la Marina 4732, El Medano, which puts you on the calmer end of the beach with the town still within reach on foot. Marina Cabo San Lucas is a few minutes away, and with it the boats out to El Arco and Lovers Beach, and the whale watching season. Downtown restaurants, the fish market and the shopping are a short walk or a very short taxi. The view runs south west across the bay to Land’s End, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific. Los Cabos International Airport is the usual transfer, around an hour by road along the corridor.

The inventory starts at Marina View Studios and climbs through one bedroom homes to ocean view homes of two and three bedrooms, then to the Baja Collection, beachfront villas of up to five bedrooms that take ten people. Everything has a kitchen, which is the practical difference: breakfast happens on your own terrace, and a week with children or with friends does not turn into three restaurant meals a day. The modern hacienda language runs through all of it, deep shade, timber, stone, and enough planting that the buildings read as garden first.
Food here is deliberately informal. The Lobby Farmstand handles the farm fresh end, the Mezcal Bar covers the evening, a food truck works the beachfront pool through the afternoon, and in home dining fills the rest. Three pools spread the crowd rather than concentrating it. Bamford supplies the spa treatments, and the fitness side runs to personal training and yoga classes.
Check in is from 15:00 and check out runs to midday. Staff work in Spanish and English. Medano Beach is public along its length, so the water fills up through the afternoon in high season and empties again early: mornings are the reason to be here. Villas in the Baja Collection are the category to ask about first if you are more than four, since they go well ahead of time. And because the marina is walkable, you can skip the rental car.

What convinced us is the arithmetic: 147 suites, every one of them facing the Sea...
We loved that you can walk out of Bahia into the middle of Cabo San...
