Three Towers and the Highest Bar in Town

Corazon Cabo is the scale end of Medano Beach. Three towers, Bayview, Medano and the newer Corazon, hold 305 rooms and suites between them, with floor to ceiling glass turning every one of them towards the Sea of Cortes. The Corazon tower alone added 187 rooms and 17 suites. On the roof sits Rooftop 360, the highest bar in Cabo San Lucas, which is where most guests end up at least once; on the sand sit two infinity pools and a beach club. Noble House runs the operation, and the furnishing takes its cues from Mexican history rather than from resort neutral.

Why It Works

Two reasons kept it in. The first is the beach. Medano is the stretch of Cabo San Lucas where the water lies calm enough to swim, and Corazon occupies a long frontage of it, with the infinity pools set directly above the sand. The second is that the property gives you somewhere to go without leaving: five places to eat, a rooftop bar with the whole bay and Land’s End below it, and Baja Brewing Co., which is the town’s microbrewery rather than a hotel bar with taps. For a family or a group, that range counts for more than a small room number.

Why This Location

Avenida Peatonal Pescadores, on El Medano. The beach runs west to the marina, which is a walk rather than a drive, and from the marina the pangas go out to El Arco and Lovers Beach. Downtown and the Golden Zone restaurants sit just behind. Water sports, palapa bars and volleyball fill the sand in front, which is the character of this beach: sociable, busy, public along its length. Los Cabos International Airport is the usual transfer along the corridor. This is the address for people who want to be in the middle of Cabo San Lucas.

Five Places to Eat, One of Them a Brewery

Aleta is the oceanfront restaurant and the one to book for dinner. Corazon Beach Club handles the day on the sand, Camaleon Cafe the coffee and the quick meal, and Rooftop 360 the drink at altitude. The fifth is Baja Brewing Co., the microbrewery, a local institution rather than a licensed name on a tap handle. Five venues at one address is the sort of arithmetic that decides a family week, because it removes the nightly negotiation about where to go.

Which Tower to Ask For

The three towers are not interchangeable. Corazon is the newest, with 187 rooms and 17 suites, and it is the one to request if you want the most recent finishes. Bayview and Medano carry the rest of the inventory and sit differently in relation to the water. Whichever you take, the glass runs floor to ceiling and the view is the point. Suites are the category for families who need the sleeping separated from the living.

A Resort Built for a Crowd

The two infinity pools look straight down the beach, the Sparitual spa works beachside, and a gym, a sauna and a hot tub sit behind them. The property also carries more than 45,000 square feet of event space and takes weddings and conferences, so the calendar is worth checking if you are hoping for quiet. Pets are accepted, and children are welcome throughout: this is not an adults only address.
